Quick, cheap and delicious weekend lunch idea to keep the family happy!
We will be sharing some of the recipes we have been cooking in our budget cooking groups.
This one is always a favourite. You can add anything you have leftover.
Its lovely with Pesto, Mashed Potato, Stew (not runny) and even Baked beans.
Sweet options are good too!! Cream cheese and Jam, Cinnamon, Brown Sugar, apple and raisins. So pretty much anything that's not too runny.
My Favourite is Mashed potato, Pesto and Cheese. YUMMY! –Clare
Tasty Spaghetti and Cheese Pinwheels
Makes 10
Ingredients
3 Cups flour
1/2 teaspoon of salt
6 teaspoons of baking powder
50g Butter
420g can Spaghetti
100g Ham, sliced
2-3 chopped Spring Onions
1 Cup Cheese
Method
Step 1
To make the scone mix, sift flour, salt and baking into a large bowl. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
Step 2
Make a well in the centre of the scone mix. Pour in the water and stir with a knife to form a soft dough. Turn out onto a floured board and knead lightly.
Step 3
Roll out on a lightly floured board into a rectangle 40cm wide x 25cm high.
Step 4
Spread the Spaghetti over the bottom 2/3 rectangle, then scatter evenly with the ham, spring onions and 3/4 cup cheese. Carefully roll the dough from the long edge and cut into 10 even pieces.
Step 5
Place the rounds on a baking paper-lined oven tray in a circular or rectangular shape. Sprinkle with remaining cheese.
Step 6
Bake at 220C for 20mins or until golden and cooked in the centre. Serve warm.
