For many of us, transitioning to Level 3 Lockdown rules will not be much different from Level 4, which means staying at home and saving lives. But as time goes on many of us are running out of free activities for ourselves and the kids, including books to read. Did you know Eastern Bay of Plenty residents have a fabulous free resource right at our fingertips called the library? You may be wondering how you are supposed to get to the library with their doors closed, easy… become a digital member. Our local libraries in Whakatane, Edgecumbe, Murupara and Ohope offer digital memberships where you can join online and you don’t even have to visit the library. You can register as a Digital Only member and have access to all their digital resources, including thousands of eBooks and eAudiobooks, without even needing to visit the library!
Your Digital Membership account is valid for 2 years. If you would like to switch to a physical membership when Lockdown rules allow, just drop in to your chosen library with your proof of ID and physical address (such as a bank statement or phone bill) to your chosen library. Membership is free for all residents of the Bay of Plenty. Junior members need to have an adult responsible for any items borrowed.
If you signed up to a Digital Membership and you do not have a proof of address, you are able to renew your digital membership. If you need assistance please see your support worker for assistance.
