EILEEN’S STORY 

I enjoy coming to Pou Whakaaro as all my friends are here and the staff are just fabulous, very supportive and caring.

Out in the community I am a volunteer at the SPCA caring for the wellbeing of animals. Every Monday I go there from 9am to 11.30am.Ienjoy doing this type of work.I also volunteer at Hospice, assisting elderly people making hot drinks and preparing lunches. I have nice friends here too.

CATIE’S STORY 

Pou Whakaaro is an awesome centre to come too. It has cool as Youth Development Programmes, I really enjoy the Wednesday and Thursday Youth Programmes.I have learnt so many new skills and have had fun doing so.Our Youth Group volunteers our time on a Monday morning weed busting for Department of Conservation. We are  assisting doc with the Restoration and Regeneration Project of our wetlands. We recently received an award from DOC.  I would like to gain a National Certificate in Social Services.
